Description
An intermediate level role that is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing interactive dashboards to communicate reporting needs and advanced analytics models that adhere to best practice, privacy, and governance principles. Responsible to meet with business stakeholders, understand their objectives and metrics most important to them and turn the business requirements into technical requirements. Responsible for gathering correct data sets, designing the BI, coordinating across various departments and testing.
Essential Functions
- Build and deploy integrated BI solutions (Dashboards, Standard Reports, ADHOC Self Service, Scorecards) using industry BI Tools like Power BI.
- Engage with stakeholders and product owners to understand business needs and translate requirements into advanced visualization designs and sustainable tools.
- Collaborate with data engineers to design the architecture required to support visualization applications and to ensure sustainable and timely data pipelines and successful implementation and maintenance.
- Tune reporting performance to enhance customer experience, troubleshooting issues related to content or performance.
- Work to identify and diagnose data inconsistencies and errors.
- Ensure data integrity within dashboards and reports while adhering to procedures for increasing the quality and accuracy of information from multiple data sources.
- Develop and update technical documentation. Provides input to standards, policies and procedures.
- Train and support colleagues in the use of self-service data exploration and visualization tools.
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Education
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical field plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or 1 year of experience in Analysis experience, including documenting business requirements and/or functional specifications in a data warehousing environment. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience in Analysis experience, including documenting business requirements and/or functional specifications in a data warehousing environment in lieu of a Master's degree plus 1 year of experience.
Minimum Experience
The position requires experience with: Hands on experience utilizing systems and reporting environments such as but not limited to Power BI, Azure SQL, Databricks; Tibco Spotfire including designing and building dashboards/ analytical solutions for data driven solutions; Tibco Data Virtualization, Implementation of new analytics architecture; Alteryx and development experience with automating data reports; Programming in SQL or other data extraction techniques; Database management systems and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework. *Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education. Position can telecommute from home from any location in the U.S.
