Description: Spanish Bilingual Professional Development Trainer

General Description
This position is responsible for creating and delivering training to early child care and education practitioners, providing support to the Director of Professional Development, and assisting with the planning and delivery of ongoing professional learning experiences.
Essential Job Functions
- Plans, develops and conducts training classes, workshops or learning events for early care and education practitioners
- Maintains IACET accreditation standards for training documents and files
- Develops and maintains a working relationship with center directors and staff
- Documents all communication and support given to early childhood practitioners
- Maintains documentation for reports when needed
- Demonstrates exemplary customer service, networking and interpersonal skills
- Keeps informed of current trends and new professional techniques through participation in professional workshops, conferences, and seminars, and by reading professional journals and publications
- Assists with updating content on the ELC of Duval website
- Attends and participates in required meetings, trainings and job related events
- Maintains a high level of professionalism and supports the success of the mission and vision of the Early Learning Coalition

Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Director of Professional Development
Knowledge And Skills
- Performs work requiring advanced knowledge and education in childhood development, and methods for collaborating with providers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to comprehend and effectively explain the CLASS tool to child care directors and teachers
- Ability to communicate effectively to providers and training participants exercising discretion and judgment
- Ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities, and use time management skills
- Ability to solve problems and seek clarification when needed
- Proficiency on computer hardware and software programs used by ELC of Duval
Education And Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree in subject areas of Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Educational Leadership or Educational Administration is preferred
- Specific experience with early childhood education and early child development required
- Experience in training adult learners
- Experience in designing and implementing training activities and materials
Licenses And Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
- Auto Insurance Verification
- Within 180 days of employment – CLASS Observer Certification in Pre K, Toddler CLASS, and/or Infant CLASS
- Maintains certifications where applicable, including but not limited to CLASS, MMCI/CLASS Group Coaching, UF Lastinger Center Coaching and CoP Certifications, etc.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Primarily works in a remote setting
- Some nights and weekends required for trainings and special events
- Local travel required for networking, meetings, site visits, training and visibility events
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Other Required Duties
There will also be other duties as the Coalition sees fit to help with the overall mission of the organization, and to provide services based on state mandates and other requests.
