Job Overview:
The Website Launch Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the successful launch of client websites by coordinating between the client and the web development team. This position requires a blend of project management skills, client communication, and a deep understanding of web design and development processes. The specialist will be responsible for understanding client needs, translating them into actionable tasks for the web developer, and overseeing the project to ensure timely and quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initial Client Meeting & Template Selection:
- Conduct meetings with clients to understand their needs, goals, and preferences for their website.
- Assist clients in selecting a website template that aligns with their vision or discuss the transfer of their existing website to a new platform.
- Document Client Preferences:
- Record detailed notes on the client’s design preferences, required features, and specific content that needs to be added or updated.
- Collect all necessary content from the client, including text, images, videos, and any other materials that need to be transferred or updated.
- Create a Detailed Task List:
- Break down the client’s requirements into a comprehensive, actionable task list for the web developer.
- Ensure that the task list includes content addition, updates, customizations, and any other client-specific requests.
- Prioritize and Assign Tasks:
- Organize tasks by priority, with critical elements such as homepage design and content updates clearly marked.
- Assign the task list to the web developer, ensuring they have all necessary assets, including content files and design guidelines.
- Instruct the web developer to focus on the homepage first to ensure timely delivery.
- Regular Check-ins:
- Conduct regular check-ins with the web developer to monitor progress and address any issues or questions.
- Ensure that the web developer is on track to meet deadlines and that all client requirements are being met.
- Prepare for Client Review:
- Review the web developer’s work upon completion to ensure it aligns with the client’s vision.
- Submit the website through a quality assurance (QA) process before presenting it to the client for the first round of review.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in web design or digital marketing.
- Strong understanding of website design principles and web development processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively between clients and the development team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
