Basic Function
The Academic Coordinator’s role is to work directly with the Data Science Graduate Director and other staff in matters of student academic records, computing grades, and other administrative duties.

Principal Accountabilities
- Works collaboratively with colleagues in student services offerings, including Office of Student Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Office of the Registrar, and other university offices to stay informed of changes to internal and external policies and procedures
- Assists students virtually and in-person, via email, and via phone with navigating administrative processes related to enrollment related functions
- Supports student retention programs and student engagement initiatives within the Graduate school during tradition and non-traditional work hours.
- Monitors enrollment-related metrics and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure the completion and accuracy of external and internal reporting
- Contributes reporting and assessment of recruitment and retention initiatives to enhance decision-making, problem solving, strategic planning, external reporting, and enrollment management, among others
- Develops data processes to help ensure a culture of data- driven decision-making across diverse stakeholder groups
- Enter and update students records every semester in database and categorize student status.
- Maintain students’ remediation exam records and determine eligibility.
- Supports the management of departmental ad-hoc data requests from internal and external stakeholders
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Core Competencies
- Skill in operation of computers, related software applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Knowledge of standard office equipment.
- Proficient with Excel and the use of pivot tables
- Knowledge of Banner, and other registration software is a preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a diverse population.
- Ability to exercise discretion, professionalism and ensure a high-level of confidentiality.
- Ability to enter data in a timely fashion with high accuracy.
- Ability to demonstrate superlative customer service.
- Significant experience with gathering, editing, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data
- Experience with a programming, statistical computing, or database management language (e.g., SQL, SPSS, SAS) preferred
- Ability to work autonomously and with minimal guidance
Minimum Requirements
Minimum a bachelor’s degree required in business or administration or similar and 3-6 years of experience. Master’s degree is preferred.

Expected Pay Range: 56,818 - 62,50
