Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The Job Captain is responsible for working with the Senior Designer and the Project Manager in the design, detailing, and documentation of a project. The Job Captain works on all phases of design with an emphasis in the Design Development and Construction Document phases. Work includes drawing set production, computer modeling and renderings as well as production management.
- Independently draft and assemble construction documents in a timely and efficient manner.
- Review CDs to ensure compliance with the firm’s standards, mechanical, building systems, codes and ADA requirements.
- Coordinate consultant’s work to ensure compliance with design solutions and timely submissions of documents.
- Interact effectively with team members and clients to ensure a smooth work-flow and ensure successful project delivery.
- Create and contribute to project design and development.
- Respond to RFI’s and submittals and coordinate as needed in the Construction phase
- Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work product.
- Day-to-day coordination with clients
- Mentor junior staff
- Support multiple projects concurrently.
