Job Title: Section 508 Compliance SME/Analyst
Job Overview:
Rainmakers Strategic Solutions, a fast-growing woman-owned small business provides management consulting services for federal government clients. Many of Rainmakers contracts support federal health care programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. A significant number of our contracts involve updating publicly available documents for digital and print publication in response to policy and healthcare benefit changes. We pride ourselves on upholding high standards for delivering quality products and services under aggressive timelines.
The role of the Content Update Editor involves reviewing and enhancing public healthcare documents. Primary tasks will include implementing prescribed edits to eliminate obsolete information and to ensure the content remains fresh and relevant. To excel in this position, you will need to have a strong command of the English language and have a deep understanding of the Plain Language Act principles. Additionally, proficiency in document formatting will be crucial in guaranteeing that after edits, all manuals and guides crafted for healthcare providers are not only clear but also completely up-to-date and accurate.
Job Duties:
- Examine and assess text modifications requested by both clients and internal project teams
- Engage in content management efforts to pinpoint all document sections needing revisions
- Assess the scope of work needed for requested changes and suggest an updated timeline
- Execute text amendments while ensuring uniformity across all affected document sections
- Thoroughly proofread for spelling, grammar, clarity, adherence to Plain Language principles, and compliance with the style guide
- Publish documents in a properly formatted manner
- Perform additional responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor as required for efficient operation
Education:
Associate degree preferred
Years of Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of editing experience.
Software Proficiency:
- Proficiency in word processing and desktop publishing.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
- Experience with Articulate 360 Storyline is a plus
