Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer in Plano, TX. Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Lead/Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience deploying and managing cloud-based systems, particularly in Azure, but should also be comfortable working with other cloud platforms. This role requires strong technical expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, as well as a deep understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, Linux systems, and Bash scripting. As a senior team member, you will initially be very hands-on in deploying and monitoring systems online, providing insightful recommendations for improving pipeline processes, and ensuring system reliability. You will also have the opportunity to lead and mentor junior team members, contributing to a more mature DevOps environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead DevOps Engineer will deploy and manage cloud-based systems primarily in Azure, utilizing Terraform for infrastructure automation
- Develop, implement, and maintain Kubernetes and Docker container solutions
- Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvements in pipelines and reliability
- Script automation tasks and manage Linux-based systems
- As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system efficiency and reliability
- Communicate complex technical concepts to leadership in a clear and concise manner
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux systems
- Strong proficiency in Bash scripting and managing cloud infrastructures, primarily Azure
- Proven experience in deploying and monitoring systems, with a focus on reliability and performance optimization
- Previous experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or similar role in a less mature DevOps environment
- Leadership capabilities, with the ability to mentor team members and communicate effectively with senior leadership
- Ability to break down complex technical issues and provide clear updates to stakeholders, including the CEO
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to simplify complex subjects for various audiences
- Proactive problem-solving attitude with a focus on continuous improvement
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
