The Project Manager is responsible for monitoring and controlling the definition, planning, execution, and close out of project, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization.Responsibilities
- Lead the project team for coordination, reporting, and on-going communication to the client department, Project Sponsor, all team members, and key stakeholders
- Achieve the program objectives of the design brief
- Direct and control projects, to report and forecast, to deliver the project within agreed-upon scope, cost, and time parameters, and with the defined project management methodology
- Define, monitor, and control project scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk, and resources
- Support the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and lead the tendering, evaluations and contract award processes
- Administer, support, and direct design consultants and contractors in accordance to the contract documents
- Reviewing and recommend invoices for payment of contracts administered
- Track deliverables
- Lead quality assurance
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
- Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
- Evaluate and assess result of project
- Follow all GN polices, standards, procedures, and guidelines
Requirements Education And Experience
- A post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline is considered an asset
- A minimum (3) three years of progressively challenging project management experience on large commercial and/or institutional buildings and/or civic works
- Direct experience managing the development and construction of infrastructure projects.
- Project Management certification or registered with Project Management Institute (PMI) will be considered an asset
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) or Architect designation of any Canadian province or territory will be considered an asset
- Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
- Proficiency in project management information system (PMIS) software will be considered an asset
- Management of infrastructure projects in Nunavut will be considered an asset
