The Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager in the monitoring and controlling of the definition, planning, execution, and close out of projects while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager’s responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Assisting the project team for coordination, reporting and on-going communication to the client department, Project Sponsor, all team members, and key stakeholders
- Achieving the program objectives of the business case
- Directing and controlling projects, to report and forecast, to deliver the project within agreed-upon scope, cost, and time parameters, and with the defined project management methodology.
- Defining, monitoring, and controlling project scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk, and resources
- Supporting the Request for Proposal (RFP), tendering, evaluations and contract award processes
- Administering, supporting, and directing design consultants and contractors in accordance to the contract documents
- Reviewing and recommending invoices for payment of contracts administered
- Tracking deliverables
- Leading quality assurance
- Monitoring and reporting on project progress
- Presenting to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions
- Implementing and managing change when necessary to meet project outputs
- Evaluating and assessing result of project
- Follow all GN polices, standards, procedures, and guidelines
Requirements Education And Experience
- A post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline will be considered an asset
- A minimum (3) years of progressively challenging project management experience on planning, design and construction support and coordination of large commercial and/or institutional buildings and/or civic works.
- Experience assisting the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager in the development and construction of infrastructure projects.
- Project Management certification or registered with Project Management Institute (PMI) will be considered an asset.
- Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
- Proficiency in project management information system (PMIS) software will be considered an asset
- Management of infrastructure projects in Nunavut will be considered an asset
