Role Overview:
As an Associate Data Engineer on our Cloud Analytics team, you will work closely with a distributed team of engineers to develop and support various data products. Your contributions will help operationalize data solutions and improve the reliability and scalability of our data platform. This role is ideal for those looking to build a career in big data and cloud analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Support: Assist in developing and deploying software solutions that enhance the reliability and efficiency of the Genesys Cloud Analytics platform.
- Learning and Mentorship: Participate in code reviews, learn from feedback, and gradually take on more responsibility in mentoring peers as you grow in the role.
- Collaboration: Work with engineering teams to help resolve issues and learn best practices in data engineering.
- Product Development: Support the transformation of concepts into functional data tools and services that meet business requirements.
- Data Management: Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable data architectures for data lifecycle management (ingest, storage, processing).
- Tooling Development: Assist in building reusable tools that enable quicker development of data pipelines.
- AWS Deployment: Gain experience in deploying and maintaining data applications on AWS, under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Troubleshooting: Learn to diagnose and resolve production issues, ensuring platform stability.
Qualifications:
- Foundational Java Skills: Basic to intermediate knowledge of Java development; familiarity with Python or similar languages is a plus.
- Interest in Big Data: Eager to learn about web-scale data and distributed systems, particularly within cloud environments like AWS.
- Product Enthusiasm: Excited about building and supporting products that are used by a broad audience.

- Infrastructure as Code: Willingness to learn tools such as Packer, Ansible, and Terraform.
