Primary Services is actively recruiting for an Assistant Construction Superintendent to support a leading company in the construction industry. This role offers an exciting chance to oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring their construction management expertise and leadership skills to maintain a safe, organized, and productive job site.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all aspects of project execution, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and on-site inspections.
- Follow the daily schedule template and maintain a daily job site log of activities and personnel.
- Ensure that all job site facilities and required signage are properly set up before work begins.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to schedule subcontractors, inspections, and equipment deliveries.
- Maintain open communication with the Project Manager regarding any changes, delays, or issues affecting the project timeline.
- Verify the completion of all necessary inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with key stakeholders, including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing subcontractors.
- Oversee the completion of all final punch list items and meet with the client and Project Manager to ensure client satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, secure job site and manage temporary facilities.
- Proactively communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to confirm scheduling and address discrepancies.
- Monitor the quality of work and ensure that it meets company standards; resolve issues or escalate them to the Project Manager as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage subcontractors and collaborate with project teams.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
