Job Summary
The Digital Content Writer, with minimal supervision, assesses, analyzes, proposes Marketing and Public Relations strategies and solutions and manages implementation of many complex products or function plans across all entities of Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH). Consults with Hospital Marketing Directors, Presidents and System Senior Executives to establish business priorities and market-segments and develops plan for achieving.
SALARY
The pay range for this position is $31.26/65K (entry-level qualifications) - $54.63/113K (highly experienced). The specific rate will depend upon the successful candidate’s specific qualifications and prior relevant working experience.
Job Summary For Digital Content Writer
The ideal Digital Content Writer candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing editorial content that conveys complex medical concepts at an eighth grade reading level to drive audience engagement, enhance conversion, brand awareness and SEO strategies.
Primary responsibilities include writing and editing long-form editorial content for Baylor Scott & White’s consumer-facing web content, along with supporting copywriting for email campaigns, blog, video outlines, etc. Note that this role does not involve content architecture within the content management system (CMS) to create pages.
Essential Functions Of The Role
- Write high-quality, SEO-friendly content for the blog, email campaigns, website, social media platforms, and video outlines, ranging from short headlines to 1500+ word articles.
- Simplify and conceptualize information about medical conditions, treatments and services to produce digestible, educational content for a general consumer audience.
- Research assigned health topics and conducts interviews with stakeholders, including physicians, medical leaders and patients for accurate and insightful content.
- Proofread content for grammar, punctuation, style and accuracy.
- Master AP Style, brand style and tone of voice to ensure consistency across content.
- Collaborate with SEO and editorial teams to optimize articles for organic search visibility and performance according to keyword research and content outlines

Qualifications
EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
- Bachelor's degree preferred in the following field
- MIS, Computer Science, Journalism, Marketing or related field
EXPERIENCE - Less Than 1 Year Of Experience - Preferred experience in writing digital editorial content
POSITION SPECIFIC QUALIFICATION PREFERENCES
- Mastery of AP Style
- Ability to adjust writing style to match brand tone and voice
- Experience writing digital editorial content
- Strong storytelling skills
- Experience writing about highly complex concepts at a middle school level.
- Healthcare writing experience preferred
- Knowledge of SEO concepts and how to meaningfully integrate keywords into copy
- Comfortable interviewing and working with a variety of stakeholders, including physicians, medical leadership and patients
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able to work within a project management tool (Workfront)
