Job Description
The Engagement Integration Team at FamilySearch is seeking an intern to help with current and upcoming marketing projects that engage young adults with Family History in innovative and effective ways.
This Part-time Intern will assist with marketing and project management tasks, including writing presentations and project proposals, organizing on-campus activities, and working independently as well as a team on other projects and tasks. We will support events held on BYU Campus, Orem Institute Campus, and BYU Idaho (could be done remotely). The ideal candidate will be creative, solution-oriented, and have excellent communication skills. Family History experience is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Promote family history on campus and through other channels
- Help with several in-person events related to family history, including experience design, set-up, training volunteers, and engaging with public audiences
- Assist in writing project plans and presentations for marketing initiatives and activities
- Write, produce, or assist in gathering engaging content in different formats
- Learn and teach others how to use FamilySearch software such as Source Linker and Ordinances Ready
- Mentor other students as they work on various family history projects
- Execute project management tasks, including tracking timelines and deadlines
- Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions and ideation
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program, or graduated in the last year
- Any major is welcome to apply, but candidates with a focus on marketing, project management, social entrepreneurship, or business are particularly encouraged
- Strong desire to help expand engagement in Family History work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or other relevant software
- Video creation and editing experience also helpful
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
This is a part-time (15-20 hours/week), 4-month internship position that will mostly be remote work, executed over Microsoft Teams. There will be occasional opportunities for in-person meetings in Salt Lake and Lehi, when feasible.
