Job Summary:
The System Administrator will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. Additionally, the role includes monitoring and managing cybersecurity tools to ensure the protection and integrity of the company’s IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior System Administrator and other IT staff to ensure the company's IT infrastructure runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Resolve technical issues related to software, hardware, and network systems for end-users. Detailed and timely documentation of all technical support is required within ticketing system.
- System Administration: Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and desktop systems. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliable and secure operation. Perform regular system updates and patches, ensuring that all systems are up-to-date with the latest security updates. Assist with the management of user accounts, permissions, and access rights. Help maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans. Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Cybersecurity Tool Monitoring: Monitor and manage cybersecurity tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and antivirus software. Respond to security alerts and collaborate with senior IT staff to investigate and mitigate security incidents.
- Collaborate with the IT team on various projects, including system upgrades, implementations, and security enhancements.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, new technologies, and emerging cybersecurity threats to recommend improvements to the IT infrastructure.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 – 5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, cybersecurity, or a similar role.
- Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and best practices.
- Understanding of IT security practices, including monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and cybersecurity within cloud environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is an advantage.
