Principal Functions
The Senior Program Manager for Trans Support of the Hudson Valley (TSHV) & Organizational DEI plays a pivotal role in advancing The LOFT’s mission by focusing on two key areas: strengthening trans programs, groups, and services and enhancing organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) through a racial equity lens.
In this leadership role, you will oversee and expand the TSHV program, ensuring it effectively supports and empowers transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary individuals across the Lower Hudson Valley region with a huge focus on communities of color. You will be the primary point of contact for all trans-related programming within the organization, driving the development and implementation of initiatives that address the unique needs of these communities.
Additionally, you will lead efforts to embed DEI principles throughout The LOFT’s operations, focusing on fostering an inclusive and equitable environment. This includes developing, implementing, and assessing DEI strategies and policies specifically emphasizing racial equity. Your work will involve collaborating with the leadership team to enhance organizational practices, recruit and engage diverse talent, and refine inclusive policies to ensure they address emerging DEI concerns.
By strengthening our trans programs and integrating DEI practices with a racial equity focus, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the impact of The LOFT’s services and contributing to a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Program Management:
- Oversee TSHV program initiatives supporting transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary individuals across multiple counties.
- Manage TSHV grant implementation and drive program growth.
- Supervise the TSHV Program Manager, ensuring program success and alignment with organizational goals.
Prevention and Health Promotion:
- Lead efforts to prevent HIV/STD/HCV infections and promote screening services.
- Ensure access to high-quality medical care for people living with HIV.
- Enhance access to comprehensive sexual health information.
Support Services:
- Facilitate access to prevention services, including PrEP/PEP linkage.
- Increase social support and reduce isolation for TGNCNB individuals.
- Boost self-esteem and provide essential supportive services through group facilitation.
- Offer support group services to incarcerated individuals in collaboration with the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS).
Case Management:
- Manage a caseload of 20-25 individuals, conduct multidisciplinary case conferences, and coordinate services.
- Input grant reporting data into the AIRS online reporting system.
Advocacy and Partnership Development:
- Be the spoken person for all TSHV events and programs and represent The LOFT in county and regional HIV/STD/HCV networks.
- Advocate for clients to support their self-sufficiency and well-being.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with regional service providers.
Health Education and Outreach:
- Oversee program events and services related to Transmission and the Hudson Valley Trans Forum.
- Identify and facilitate necessary health education services.
DEI Oversight and Strategy:
- Develop, implement, and assess DEI strategies and policies in line with the Chief Operating Officer's guidelines.
- Collaborate with leadership to recruit and engage diverse talent.
- Refine inclusive policies and address emerging DEI concerns.
- Organize DEI events and maintain communication with departments on DEI strategies.
Qualifications
· B.A. or B.S. with 3+ years of experience in social services, including HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+, behavioral health, substance use disorder, or chronic illnesses.
· Proven program management experience in DEI and community support contexts, with cultural competency in LGBTQ+ communities and intersections of identity.
· Strong supervisory skills and experience managing staff and programmatic initiatives.
· Bilingual skills and familiarity with the AIRS data reporting system are advantageous.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and advocacy skills, with experience in trauma-informed practices and evidence-based approaches.
· Proficient in Word, Excel, Google Workspace, and electronic record-keeping.
· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, handle sensitive issues with discretion, and work independently as well as part of a team.
· Willingness to work some evenings and occasional weekends, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

- This position requires traveling within the counties served by TSHV to attend events and meetings.
Physical Requirements:
- Sit for extended periods while working at a desk or in meetings.
- Use a computer and other office equipment effectively.
