This remote position offers you the opportunity to work from home while contributing to patient care excellence as a dedicated Patient Account Representative specializing in Medicare billing and follow-up. This role is open to residents in the Fort Worth, TX area.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately manage and follow up on unpaid Medicare inpatient and outpatient accounts to ensure timely billing.
- Identify and process appropriate write-offs, resolve credit balances, and respond promptly to help letters.
- Meet and exceed productivity standards as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in hospital Medicare billing and follow-up is essential. Experience with California Medical Billing is a plus.
Skills
- Proficient with 10-key adding machines, calculators, and other office equipment.
- Strong mathematical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to new systems quickly.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and the creation of reports through hospital systems.
Technical Requirements
- Reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up is necessary for remote work.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with CMS billing requirements and regulations.
- Knowledge of commercial third-party billing requirements is advantageous.
Work Schedule
- Day shifts; this position is non-exempt under FLSA guidelines.
