Responsibilities
- Database Design & Maintenance: Design and enhance highly complex databases to meet evolving business requirements and data storage needs.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and fine-tune database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries to ensure smooth functionality.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to database design, performance, and functionality.
- Best Practices: Implement and uphold best practices in data storage, backup, and security.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior database engineers in best practices and effective database management.
- Agile Development: Participate in agile development meetings and collaborate with teams to align on project goals and progress.
Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in database management.
- Technical Skills: Extensive experience with MS SQL Server 2016 - 2022 and SQL Server monitoring tools. Expert knowledge in SQL, database development (DDL, encryption, indexing), and administration (clustering, replication, performance tuning).
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving, with keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Relevant certifications.
- Advanced knowledge of C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Expertise in database warehousing, data migration, and data architecture.
