Overview
Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
The Sr. Data Engineer, under the direction and supervision of the Director of Data Engineering, will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of the hospital's data infrastructure. This position involves the design and implementation of data pipelines, ETL processes, data modeling, and ensuring data quality to support the production of high-value analytic products and services. The role demands functional and technical expertise, particularly in handling healthcare data, and a strong focus on collaboration and effective project delivery.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience
- Required: 10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a focus on healthcare data systems preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in data management, ETL processes, data modeling, and working with various data platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Azure Data Lake Services, Synapse, etc.).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Adaptability: Ability to rapidly respond to changing goals and objectives, working effectively under pressure.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with data security practices and compliance standards relevant to healthcare, such as HIPAA.
- Healthcare Systems: Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and leveraging EHR data for analytics and decision support.
- Advanced Tools: Familiarity with data governance tools and data quality frameworks.
Education/Licensure/Certification
- Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Systems or HS Diploma/GED plus 8 years of direct experience.
- Preferred: Additional post-graduate work preferred.
Pay Scale Information
USD $110,656 - $199,181

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
