Role: Lead Product Quality Engineer
Location: Gloucester
Duration: 12 months

Role Summary / Purpose
Responsible for driving product, process, and quality improvements in OE and R&O (MRO) lines. Overseeing and providing technical guidance to internal customers, team members and stakeholders. Providing direct quality support to the shop floor, with the objective of reducing customer disruptions, improving yield, and reducing losses. Interfacing with customer where required and supporting all quality and continuous improvement activities as part of the Product Quality function.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ownership of quality requirements, supporting the Operations and Engineering teams
- Ownership of root cause identification & corrective action for internal and external non-conformances
- Responsible for meeting product quality needs, demonstrating effective problem-solving skills
- Supporting daily Quality and Operations reporting rhythms through standard business meetings
- Providing "Toolbox Talk" style training on production/repair quality and inspection procedures
- Identification of opportunities for improvement projects
- Performing process/product audits, and potentially First Article Inspections
- Providing support with customer communication when required
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in aerospace Quality/Production/MRO within a manufacturing and/or maintenance organisation
- Strong customer focus and understanding of customer needs
- Knowledge of composite layup & cure, machining, assembly, NDT, and metrology
- Knowledge of metallic repair, machining, assembly, NDT, and metrology
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, ability to work with digital tools and data
- Good oral, written communication, and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal and team skills, ability to influence others and lead small teams through group activities
- Able to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact, coordinating several projects simultaneously
- Understanding of Toll Gate, NPI and APQP processes
Qualifications / Requirements
- Relevant technical education or degree with experience in Quality (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in QC Engineering, Quality System Planning and Quality Improvement methods
- Working knowledge of EASA/CAA Part 21G and Part 145 approvals
- Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 requirements
- Certified auditing skills
- Six Sigma trained, or Green Belt certification, (but must demonstrate an understanding of Lean principles)
