Description
This program offers a structured clinical training experience in specialty units for recent nursing graduates. The initial schedule typically runs Monday through Friday for 8 hours a day, totaling 40 hours a week, with potential weekend shifts during holidays. The preceptorship phase includes three 12-hour shifts weekly, along with every other weekend, based on the preceptor's schedule.
Participants will achieve several certifications, including BLS, ACLS, CPI, EKG, NIH Stroke Scale, and Meditech Modules. Attendance throughout the program is mandatory, and acceptance requires a minimum two-year full-time commitment to the hospital. Residents may be required to repay a pro-rated portion of educational costs if they do not fulfill this commitment.
Professional Development Program
- Paired with a trained mentor for integration into the nursing culture.
- Frequent resident seminars following a core curriculum for professional development.
- Completion of an evidence-based poster presentation.
- Development of Charge Nurse and Preceptor skills.
Qualifications
- Recent graduate of an accredited nursing school within the past 12 months.
- No more than 6 months of RN experience, ideally less than 2 months in a hospital setting and no more than 6 months in nursing home/home health.
- Current FL RN license required prior to program start or appropriate compact licensure. If holding a compact license, an active FL RN license is required within 90 days of hire.
- Previous medical or service industry experience is highly desired but not required.
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills.
- Candidates who demonstrate a passion for patient care are preferred.

- Level 2 Trauma facility.
- Non-accredited nursing school candidates are accepted.
- Open to considering candidates from non-acute care settings.
- Non-specialty areas are particularly in need of residency candidates.
Track Lengths for Remaining Cohorts
- Med/Surg/Tele, PCU, Ortho/Neuro, Stepdown, Inpatient Rehab units - 10 weeks (5⁄5)
- ICU - 13 weeks (6⁄7)
Compensation
- Salary Range:
- Med/Surg & PCU: $29.81
- ICU: $30.94
- Specialty: $32.79
- Sign-on bonus of $10k with a 2-year commitment.
- Relocation assistance available on a case-by-case basis for out-of-state candidates.
General Comments
- Interviewing for summer cohorts (TN Visa or Green Card sponsorship available).
- Note: Sponsorship is not available for candidates from China or India due to processing time constraints.
