Hellenic Hope Center was established in 1999 with a deep commitment to bringing awareness of special needs and to provide the highest quality of care and services for their participants. HHC aspires to improve the quality of their participants lives and ensure they are treated with dignity and respect.
With roots in the Greek community of east Toronto, HHC has grown to welcome families and supporters from all walks of life. We are currently looking for a new full time Program Manager to join our team. The primary function of the Programs Manager is to manage the day-to-day operation of the Hellenic Hope Center (HHC) in accordance with the direction of the HHC Board of Directors.
Major Roles & Responsibilities:
Operations:
● Establish key program priorities and projects, determining staff workload priorities and schedules.
● Review and approve Day Program Schedules on a monthly basis
● Maintain an accurate inventory of all programs
● Manage Program and Service relationships
● Oversee Program Policies/Standards
● Maintain accurate and effective intake and waitlist management strategies/records
● Preparation and presentation of annual budget to the Board of Directors
● Oversight of expenditures on a monthly basis ensuring to stay within budget
● Prepare a monthly Operational update to the Board of Directors
Staffing/Human Resources:
● Create and maintain an internal structure to assist in delivering the HHC mission and services
● Oversee all staffing inclusive of the hiring process
● Training of staff:
o Source and obtain training programs as required
o Schedule training to suit the needs of each staff position
● Review and maintain Job Descriptions for each position
● Negotiate and establish annual goals for all staff and complete Annual Performance Reviews
● Manage and provide guidance and support to Day Program staff
Outreach and Intake:
● Liaise with community, including families, politicians and other agencies representing HHC in order to;
o Recruit new participants
o Recruit Placement Students
o Recruit Volunteers
o Remain current with developments in programs of other agencies
● Maintain accurate records of Outreach activities and Intakes
● Maintain regular touch bases with families in order to maintain two communications in order to keep informed of changing needs of participants
● Public Relations: deal with inquiries from outside organizations – Public Health Department, Ministry, Fire Department, Community Colleges, and visitors.
Qualification:
● Social Services diploma or degree or equivalent
● Minimum 2 years experience working with adults with special needs
● Minimum 2 years experience managing staff and volunteers
● Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
● Strong project management skills and the ability to manage day to day operations of a program
● Team player with the ability to liaise and work effectively with the board of directors and community agencies
This position is a full time, in person role.
