Position Summary
Our client is seeking someone to join and lead their United States and Canada payroll cycles. This person will work a hybrid schedule with three (3) days in office located in Spring, Texas and two (2) days being remote-work days. This person will spearhead their assigned division to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for local employees and expatriates and provide payroll related analysis information to division management. They will process and ensure the accuracy of payroll information required to compensate employees in compliance with state and local regulations. Disseminate required information to our internal and external clients.
Essential Duties
- Work with Payroll Manager for division payroll process improvement, be the US/Canada representative on all payroll related issues.
- Participate in payroll automation projects and payroll system implementations for the assigned region.
- Work with HR and supervise payroll preparation for employees.
- Administer the payroll related information, i.e., Overtime record, Allowances, etc.
- Responsible for ensuring timely deposits of payroll tax and accurate payroll tax return reporting for US and Canadian employees.
- Coordinate the registration and configuration of all new payroll tax jurisdictions.
- Manage payroll process within the Finance Department, with payroll service providers, and vendors.
- Manage data involving various internal systems, interface programs, and report writing applications.
- Review tax reports and returns, work with third party to address discrepancies, resolve inquiries and process amendments for compliance.
- Perform quality assurance within each payroll cycle on data entered by subordinates to ensure accuracy prior to processing of payroll.
- Coordinate payroll audit with internal/external auditors.
- Manage ad-hoc reporting as required and annual reporting requirements for pension, worker's compensation, corporate tax reporting for vendors, policy renewals and tax consultants.
- Troubleshoot inquiries from employees, vendors, and management.
- Perform review of funding of all payrolls and payments.
- Support ad-hoc projects and drive process efficiency improvements.
Education and Experience
- Minimum five (5) years payroll or related experience.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Operational understanding of computerized accounting systems (Oracle), payroll system (Dayforce), human resources software (Oracle HCM), electronic spreadsheets, and related benefits systems as applicable.
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers (i.e., all levels of personnel) in an effective and professional manner.
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve client problems satisfactorily.
- Proven ability to accomplish various tasks within specified time requirements.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work within a team environment, results oriented.
- Should possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong commitment to the tasks assigned and willing to work under pressure
- Working knowledge of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems.

Travel Requirements: As needed to meet service-level requirements and for required business meetings

Salary range $35-40/hr W2. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
