Job Title: Database Manager (Oracle Exadata, PL/SQL, Data Management & Governance)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Data Manager with a strong background in Oracle Exadata, PL/SQL, data management and governance, and expertise in business continuity planning (BCP), disaster recovery (DR), and Oracle Cloud. The ideal candidate will manage, optimize, and secure our databases, ensure high availability, and support our data-driven decision-making processes. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle Exadata, PL/SQL, data management, governance best practices, and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management:
- Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle Exadata databases.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of databases.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Data Integration and ETL Processes:
- Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Integrate data from multiple sources into the database system.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all databases.
Performance Tuning:
- Conduct performance tuning of PL/SQL scripts and Oracle databases.
- Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks, query optimization, and index tuning.
- Monitor database performance and implement improvements as needed.
Data Management and Governance:
- Develop and implement data management strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.
- Work closely with business units to ensure data management and governance standards compliance.
- Implement data stewardship practices to monitor and maintain data integrity.
Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR):
- Design and implement BCP and DR strategies for Oracle databases and applications.
- Ensure that data and systems are protected and can be quickly restored during a disaster.
- Regularly test BCP and DR plans to ensure effectiveness and readiness.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to align BCP and DR strategies with organizational goals.
Oracle Cloud Management:
- Manage and optimize Oracle Cloud infrastructure related to data management.
- Implement cloud-based solutions for backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Monitor and manage database performance and security in the Oracle Cloud environment.
- Ensure seamless integration between on-premises and cloud-based systems.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of database administrators and developers.
- Collaborate with other IT teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to support data-related projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
Project Management:
- Manage data-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Ensure timely and successful delivery of projects within scope and budget.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in Oracle Database Administration, Data Management, or related areas are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in database management, with a focus on Oracle Exadata, PL/SQL, and Oracle Cloud.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale databases and complex data environments.
- Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Experience in developing and implementing BCP and DR strategies.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Oracle Exadata and PL/SQL.
- Strong knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Proficiency in backup and recovery, data replication, and disaster recovery planning.
