Job Title: Retail Point of Sale (POS ) Project Manager
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Long term contract: 18 months to start
Workplace: Remote, with in-store visits to the West LA location as needed
About: Our client is a leading retail brand with 63 stores across the country. They are on a journey to revolutionize their customer experience with a cutting-edge "Store of the Future" in West LA. They are investing in a new POS solution, and implementing their new POS choice over the next 18-24 months.
Position Overview: They are seeking a high-energy and highly engaged POS Project Manager to join their team. This role is critical in driving the implementation of a new POS solution that will streamline the complex checkout process, improve the B2B and B2C experience, and innovate the retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- "Store of the Future" Initiative: Take charge of the project in West LA, using it as a testbed for new POS solutions and retail innovations.
- POS System Implementation: Lead the implementation of a new POS system, ensuring it aligns with the business partners' goals of streamlining the checkout process and enhancing the overall store experience.
- Technical Leadership: Bring a strong understanding of retail POS solutions, even if you're not a technical architect. Understand the tools and technologies needed to rethink and redesign the store experience.
- Innovation & Strategy: Develop roadmaps and strategies to ensure that the POS solutions are not just functional but also innovative, supporting the fast-moving retail environment.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage in intelligent conversations with business partners, ensuring that proposed solutions are realistic, streamlined and aligned with business needs. Navigate complex discussions without getting steamrolled by competing interests.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a technical product role within a midsize retailer, focusing on POS solutions.
- Strong understanding of retail environments and the specific needs of B2B and B2C customers.
- Ability to lead high-stakes projects with multiple stakeholders, maintaining a focus on innovation and practicality.
- Experience with Aptos POS systems is a plus.
This position is primarily remote, offering flexibility and the convenience of working from home. However, because the "Store of the Future" test location is in Los Angeles, candidates must be based in LA to ensure they can easily visit the store as needed for hands-on testing, collaboration with the in-store team, and to oversee the implementation of the POS system in a real-world environment. This local presence is crucial for the success of the project, allowing for seamless coordination and rapid response during critical phases of the rollout.
