Destination Marketing Coordinator
Job Type: Full Time - Salary
Salary: Based on Experience
Reports to the Marketing & Communications Manager
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Public Relations & Communications:
- Support alignment of PR strategies and campaigns with the destination’s brand identity
- Supply the PR Agency with the latest news, events, and stories from Cartersville and Bartow County.
- Provide timely information, updates, and content needed for media outreach.
- Assist in the scheduling of Journalist and Influencers for media visits.
- Ensure the agency has access to updated photos, videos, and other visual assets.
- Keep local businesses, tourism partners, and community leaders informed about ongoing PR efforts.
Digital Marketing:
- Help create and optimize social media ad campaigns on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
- Assist with SEO and search engine marketing efforts to boost online visibility.
- Keep up with digital marketing trends and best practices.
- Track and report on performance, providing insights for improvement.
Content Creation:
- Assist in the development of engaging content for website, socials, print, and more.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to create and edit visuals for various content needs.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to brainstorm ideas and maintain a well-rounded approach to content.
- Ensure all content follows brand guidelines and quality standards.
Social Media Management:
- Assist in creating, scheduling, and posting content across social media platforms.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions to foster engagement.
- Help track social media performance and analyze metrics to inform strategy.
Community Engagement:
- Attend and represent the organization at local events, community programs, and industry conferences.
- Build relationships with community members and stakeholders.
Support Functions:
- Assist with data entry and maintenance of CMS, CRM, and organizational databases.
- Assist with coordination of meetings and visits with local partners to maintain a working relationship as a destination team with regards to all marketing strategies.
- Address inquiries and assist with event coordination to support the sales team.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the President & CEO to support organizational goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field.
- Driven individual with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in management of social media channels.
- Expertise of Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Office applications.
- Will require occasional overnight travel for select conferences and training, including after-hours and weekend work.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience and/or related time spent for an internship or part time work.
- Proficiency in networking skills to collaborate with partners and peers in the industry.
- Knowledge of office procedures, methods and equipment including letter writing, general accounting and organization.
- Ability to work and collaborate with a team, including general staff meetings, work-related outings and weekly one on one appointments.
- Must possess exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task, while maintaining an effective working relationship with staff, partners, local officials and industry peers

Must be available and willing to work overtime (including daily, weekend and holidays) as determined by management as necessary to meet the business needs.
