Role Overview
As a CDI Education Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering engaging educational content for Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) initiatives. You will create materials for bootcamps, webinars, e-learning platforms, and written articles. You will also serve as the primary instructor for CDI Bootcamps and various client engagements, delivering both virtual and in-person instruction. This role requires frequent travel to effectively support clients and facilitate educational sessions across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive educational content, including objectives, course agendas, and materials for various learning platforms.
- Collaborate with peers and the CDI Education Director to update and refine course materials.
- Deliver instructional sessions to clients, fostering an interactive and supportive learning environment.
- Serve as an in-house support resource for CDI-related functions, participating in conferences, summit meetings, and other corporate events as needed.
- Contribute as a subject matter expert in CDI concepts through articles, books, podcasts, and other industry content.
- Stay updated on market trends, regulations, and standards within the CDI industry, contributing to the enhancement of internal processes related to educational content.
- Participate in member committees upon request, such as Regulatory or Certification committees.
- Address inquiries from students and members regarding CDI concepts.
- Contribute to sales and marketing efforts and participate in strategic initiatives to promote organizational success and growth.
- Represent the organization's products at tradeshows, seminars, and other events.
- Adapt to the evolving needs of clients and the organization with flexibility and professionalism.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance processes.
- Embrace an entrepreneurial mindset focused on product improvement and development.
Qualifications
- CCDS and/or CCDS-O certification.
- Registered Nurse licensure or certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
- Over four years of experience in Clinical Documentation Integrity.
- Proficiency in public speaking and educational content development.
- Ability to travel independently within the US.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously under deadlines in a diverse, distributed workforce.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on product improvement and development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
