Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy’s New Product Development team is at the forefront of building new platforms for emerging businesses and disruptive technology. As part of the Information Technology organization, this team focuses on rapidly developing robust, scalable, and innovative software that will help push the boundaries of current thinking at NextEra. As a Principal Project Manager for this group, you will help to guide the teams that are building these products, help to define the future direction of our platforms, and be the key point of contact for our stakeholders. You will serve as a Scrum Master for our agile development teams, removing roadblocks that may be preventing progress, and directing the daily work of expanding the New Product Development team’s impact.
Job Overview
This position plans, executes, and finalizes projects, according to schedule and within budget. Employees in this role acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of team members including third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. Individuals define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Plans and directs the installation of Information Technology projects which typically involve and impact multiple business areas
- Provides formalized, continuing work direction and leadership to assigned team(s) to ensure timely and effective project execution
- Participates in employee development, coaching, and ongoing performance management
- Applies knowledge and experience in own discipline while continuing to acquire and develop higher-level knowledge and skills
- Builds knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers
- Solves a range of straightforward problems
- Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedure
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 6+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
