Job Description:
Day to day will consist of the following:
50% BSA role for requirements gathering directly from business units.
10% Power BI Administration
40% Development skills with strong SQL, source to target mapping, data modelling, PBI Dashboard development skills.
- Requirement Gathering and Analysis: Meeting with stakeholders to understand business needs, gathering requirements for new systems or updates to existing systems.
- Data Analysis: Using SQL to query databases, extract relevant data, and analyze it to inform business decisions or validate requirements.
- Data Modeling: Designing and refining data models that represent business processes, creating entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), and ensuring that data structures align with business objectives.
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation, including functional specifications, data flow diagrams, and technical requirements.
- Collaboration with Development Teams: Working closely with developers, DBAs, and other IT professionals to ensure that the technical solutions being developed meet the specified requirements.
- Testing and Validation: Assisting in the testing phase, writing and executing SQL scripts to validate data integrity, and ensuring that the implemented systems work as expected.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyzing current systems and processes for opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy, often recommending and designing changes.
- Support and Troubleshooting: Providing ongoing support for existing systems, troubleshooting data-related issues, and making necessary adjustments to the data models.
This combination of tasks allows the BSA to ensure that business needs are effectively translated into technical solutions.
