Project Manager
The Project Manager will report to the Lead, Project Management Office (PMO). This role will manage the planning and implementation of projects in support of the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada mission and vision.
Working closely with the Lead, PMO, the Project Manager will play a leadership role in supporting the translation of funding agreements into clear objectives and detailed plans and then managing the quality execution of those plans to deliver against the defined objectives and key performance indicators.
What You’ll Be Doing
Project Planning and Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans that include scope, timelines, resources, budget, and risk management strategies.
- Monitor and manage project progress, adjusting plans as necessary to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Develop and implement effective stakeholder engagement strategies using key project management tools, such as charters, project schedules, and change requests, to ensure good governance and risk management throughout the project or program.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications between all stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular status meetings, providing updates on project progress, risks, and deliverables.
- Manage client expectations and ensure that project outcomes align with their goals.
- Ensure decisions are made in consultation with appropriate representation from all impacted functional areas and stakeholders.
- Provide a collaborative environment for issues to be discussed and resolved effectively and appropriately, and with buy-in from all stakeholders.
Risk and Issue Management
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address issues as they arise, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and outcomes.
Budget and Resource Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently.
- Track project expenses and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders.
- Optimize resource utilization to meet project demands.
- Provides input into and administers assigned budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
Process Improvement
- Analyze and refine project management processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve project delivery.
- Conduct post-project reviews to continuously improve project management practices.
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure that all project activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all project-related activities, decisions, and communications.
- Responsible for program insights, KPIs
Your Qualifications And Education
- Post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Between 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Proven project management experience working on complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Proven planning skills, with the ability to oversee and coordinate multiple projects and shifting priorities under tight timelines and with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong relationship-building skills, including with executives and external partners/vendors.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively, with a proactive mindset, as part of a team to identify needs, complete tasks, resolve issues and provide support through essential work.
- Ability to continually assess and prioritize workflow based on project needs.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to bring structure to projects to advance them.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders using strong communication, negotiation, consensus-building, and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to support quantitative and qualitative analyses and produce reports providing insights on the data.
- Proven capability working with Microsoft Office Suite.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Or Certifications
- PMP and Agile certifications are a nice to have
- Experience with MS Office collaboration tools (One Drive, Sharepoint, MS Teams)
- Experience with process improvement practices
- Experience with developing learning materials
- Experience working with and managing third-party vendors and statements of work
- Familiarity with a multi-level, federation organization
- Ability to work onsite and remotely
