How you will impact the organization:
- My client is growing and scaling globally. They are not yet a fully data centric environment as it stands today, but they are headed in that direction quickly- with your help!
- They are building out a Data Governance Practice and heading up several other related initiatives.
- You will be the right hand person over all of the different initiatives going on, both from a technical and business standpoint.
- This role also has really high growth potential because of all the rapid growth happening!!
- This person also must be well versed with managing and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
- This is an individual contributor role with more of an indirect leadership role/leader of initiatives. The main focus here is driving functions and deliverables for the Data organization.
Skills needed to excel in the role:
- Strong experience in an Architect or Principal level role
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining relationships with leadership level stake holders (C-level/executive level), must have extremely strong written and verbal communication skills
- 5+ years or so of leadership level exposure to implementation/build of data platforms.
- Experience designing, building, and implementing data platforms and data security frameworks
- Strong experience with databases (Azure SQL)
- Experience driving data strategy (How is the data provisioned? How do we manage it? What kind of governance can we put into play? How do we implement these things? You will in depth on provisioning the data and be heavily involved here)
- Azure experience. My client is an Azure shop (Azure Databricks and managing access control lists on Azure data lake storage).
- Data Engineering/Software Engineering background. Although a big piece of this role is around the buildout and strategy please note this is not a data engineering role, the preference is to have someone with an engineering background because it will be extremely helpful to have someone who can think about this as well from a technical perspective.
Interview Process:
- 3 steps: First round is a 20-30 minute chat with the hiring manager. Second round is a 1-hour technical panel, then the final round is a chat with the hiring manager again and potentially their boss.
