VanEck is a privately held global asset management firm founded in 1955. We develop forward-looking, intelligently designed, active and ETF strategies that strengthen long-term portfolios. The Data Operations team is a newly created team that was formed to liaison with Portfolio Operations and IT Operations and to define and build a data strategy to improve overall data quality and data reliability within the organization. VanEck is looking for an experienced Data Operations Analyst to build out the team and assist with overseeing the data collection and management processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following, other duties may be assigned as needed:
- Monitor the daily ingestion of investment data used within portfolio systems and internal databases to ensure files are properly loaded and troubleshoot any issues with delayed or missing files.
- Oversee the internal movement of data within VanEck’s infrastructure to ensure required reports are generated from these systems and resolve any inaccurate data issues in the reports.
- Investigate and research data and report issues raised through the ticketing system to determine the root cause and collaborate with IT Data Operations to resolve the issue.
- Document daily/monthly/quarterly administrative IT Data Operations processes and take ownership of the tasks to identify and implement operational efficiency.
- Conduct data and business process analysis to identify and create requirements and solutions to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability to implement streamlined workflows.
- Communicate effectively with teams across the organization to understand data requirements when reports are not displaying the proper data to meet their business objectives.

Qualifications:
- Exceptional analytical skills, both data and conceptual
- Proficiency in SQL to conduct data-driven analysis is required
- Experience with data visualization platforms like Microsoft PowerBI is a plus
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to develop a proactive mindset to take initiative in solving problems
- Ability to drive outcomes in a self-directed manner with minimal direction
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Finance, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline.
- Formal education in computer science is required
- 4 to 7 years’ relevant experience in the financial services industry

Compensation:
If this position will be performed in whole or in part in New York City, the base salary range is $85,000 to $115,000. Individual salaries may vary based on different factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with this position.
