Description
You will play a crucial role in managing the transition of infrastructure from one Managed Service Provider (MSP) to another. This 100% remote position is a contract assignment lasting 15 weeks, with the potential for permanent placement. Your primary focus will be to collaborate with the MSP Transition Leader and Transition Manager to ensure the successful execution of the transition project while maintaining service quality.
Must-Have Experience & Skills
- 5 years of experience in project management.
- 3+ years of experience working with managed service providers.
- 5+ years of experience in project management and strategic planning.
- 5+ years of formal team leadership experience with transformation & transition programs.
- Experience with Agile, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and DevOps.
- Certification in ITIL V4 or V3.
- Strong leadership skills with a strategic mindset.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Positive customer service approach with the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
- Strong technical experience to review project requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
- Experience working with diverse, global, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, particularly in managing IT transitions or similar projects.
- Proficiency in project management tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the ITIL framework and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Coordination: Review and contribute to the comprehensive project plan, aligning project goals with the broader transition strategy.
- Resource Management: Collaborate with the Transition Manager to allocate internal resources effectively and ensure adequate staffing during the transition.
- Stakeholder Communication: Establish and maintain clear communication channels with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with both the current and new MSP to ensure alignment with the transition plan.
- Quality Assurance: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of the transition project.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed project documentation and generate regular reports for leadership and stakeholders.
