SUMMARY
This position is directly responsible for assisting in the regulatory compliance related to residential mortgage lending, HMDA, and providing advisement to post closing quality control and pre-funding quality control functions.
Major Duties And Responsibilities (essential Functions)
Oversee, review, and monitor loans to ensure compliance is adhered to with TILA, RESPA, FCRA, TRID, and ECOA rules and additional regulations by providing advisement to the pre-funding and post-closing quality control review process owners. Provides reports and updates on a regular basis on compliance reviews to keep senior management informed and provides other necessary documentation, or updates as needed. Oversee, review, and monitor the origination system to ensure updates meet regulatory requirements. Maintains current knowledge of all compliance requirements and upcoming changes that impact the residential mortgage lending industry. Ensures that management is informed of frequently occurring errors or if errors exceed the maximum allowable threshold in the pre-funding and post-closing quality control review processes. Manages offshore team of 2 outsourced HMDA team members that are responsible for HMDA data scrubbing and submissions. Responsible for filing the HMDA LAR as well as monthly HMDA exception reviews and scrubbing of HMDA data. Ability to maintain and update the organization’s policy and procedures. Proactively provide effective feedback and guidance and support for other Mortgage related compliance issues. Provide training for new compliance changes. Perform Vendor Quality Control Reviews. Assist with mortgage vendor management as needed. Assist with reviewing mortgage marketing ads for compliance adherence. Must collaboratively work within the compliance team as well as across all business lines to proactively implement new compliance programs and changes.
Additional Duties And Resonsibilities
- Performs other duties as requested by Executive Management or Manager.
- Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
- Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
- Dresses professionally.
- Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department.

Education And Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required and college degree in business preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years experience in mortgage lending environment required.
- 3 years experience working in a mortgage processing or underwriting position is highly recommended.
