The salary range for this position is CAD $31.80/Hr. - CAD $45.71/Hr.
Providence Health Care's renowned Mental Health Program is now accepting applications for a temporary full-time Project Coordinator. This position will last until the end of August 2025 or the return of the incumbent, with the potential to have the position extended and/or have the successful candidate apply for other opportunities within the organization.
Reporting to the Program Director and receiving day-to-day work direction from the Clinical Nurse Specialist, the Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of Mental Health program projects and initiatives. The Project Coordinator coordinates and monitors project activities to ensure deliverables are completed on time and on budget. Prepares and disseminates reports on project/project task status. Identifies, collects, and analyzes relevant data/information relating to current projects and/or program activities. Prepares reporting materials, including summaries, written reports, briefing documents, and presentations. Assists with the development of communication plans and responds to requests for project information.
The Project Coordinator works with a fair degree of independence and uses in-depth knowledge of the initiatives to coordinate actions and activities related to assigned project tasks. In addition to working closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialist, the role works collaboratively with other staff and working groups internal and external to the organization.
Your duties will include
- Project Coordination and Monitoring Oversee project activities, track progress, and ensure timely and on-budget completion of deliverables. Identify and address obstacles, working with leadership to find solutions.
- Data Collection and Reporting Collect, analyze, and summarize data related to project tasks. Prepare various reporting materials, including written reports, summaries, and presentations.
- Communication and Collaboration Assist with communication plans and coordinate efforts with internal and external partners, responding to requests for information and supporting joint initiatives.
- Administrative and Financial Support Maintain project documentation, monitor expenditures, and help with event coordination, such as meetings, webinars, and knowledge exchange sessions.
Education
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Degree in a Social Science, Health Science or related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years recent, related experience in a coordination role, including project coordination.
- Previous experience working in a health care environment preferably in a mental health setting is an asset.

- Proven knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.

- Familiarity with mental health concepts.
- Knowledge of social determinants of health and commitment to addressing the needs of people who are marginalized and face barriers in accessing care.

- Computer literacy including experience in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reference management software.
- Experience in or ability to quickly learn computer programs/interfaces.
- Knowledge of online survey tools.
- Competitive salary $62,239- $89,469 CAD per year / $31.80 - $45.71 CAD per hour, depending on experience

- Provides project coordination for a variety of projects and activities. Tracks project(s) progress according to project plan, monitors and reports on the status of projects/project tasks. Identifies and reports any major issues/obstacles encountered. Works with Program Director and Clinical Nurse Specialist to identify and/or develop alternative methods to meet project deliverables.
- Maintains an understanding of the project schedule(s), deliverables, and commitments as set out in project charters and other work plans.
- Assists with the execution of the project plan according to project methodologies, ensuring the successful and coordinated completion of project components.
- Identifies, collects, and analyzes relevant data/information relating to current projects and/or program activities. Conducts basic statistical analyses. Prepares graphs, charts and spreadsheets. May conduct literature searches if required.
- Assists with and/or prepares reporting materials, including summaries, written reports, briefing documents, and presentations.
- Supports the development and implementation of processes or tools to improve project delivery and related administrative requirements.
- Liaises with Clinical Nurse Specialist and other staff to implement communication plans and activities, and with external and internal partners to respond to requests for information, assist with joint initiatives and events, and to coordinate communication activities.
- Responds to and tracks information requests from staff, groups, and partners, and coordinates communication of responses.
- Collaborates with team and all relevant groups to build relationships that promote the achievement of cooperative goals and contributes to an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
- Maintains library of project documentation and resources.
- Monitors project expenditures and reports variances. Gathers and summarizes financial information related to assigned projects for submission to the Program Director or other relevant groups/individuals.
- Coordinates in-person or virtual events such as committee or working group meetings, webinars, communities of practice, knowledge exchange and other events as required.
- May assist with the preparation of grant and ethics board applications and in the development and dissemination of knowledge translation materials.
- Performs other duties as required.
