Our client, a reputable construction company operating in the Greater Vancouver Area, is known for its strong commitment to project excellence and employee development. With over 50 years in the industry, they are seeking a Project Manager to join their expanding team on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall control, direction, and progression of contract work, ensuring delivery within time, budget, and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for the Contractor on the project, leading all site and project team meetings.
- Review all project documentation, including contract drawings and specifications, and develop effective work plans.
- Assess risks associated with work activities and identify assumptions and limitations.
- Manage procurement of materials and subcontractors, negotiate best prices, and ensure compliance with project budgets.
- Acquire and file necessary permits and approvals for construction work.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and report changes in contract conditions.
- Review progress payment applications, monitor unit costs, and manage invoices for accuracy.
- Conduct regular site meetings with subcontractors to review and administer work plans.
- Submit applications for substantial and total completion of the project, ensuring publication in accordance with lien legislation.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Engineering Degree (Civil Engineering preferred) or Construction Management Degree with Civil Construction experience.
- 5-10 years of construction management experience, preferably with sewer and watermain projects.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software, Microsoft Office; knowledge of Microsoft Project is an asset.
- Valid British Columbia Driver’s License, legal eligibility to work in Canada, and strong commitment to quality standards.
