Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Business Analyst/Data Analyst in Alviso, CA. Summary: We are embarking on an ambitious project to migrate from a Cloudera-based data platform to a cutting-edge platform built on DataBricks. The initial phase of this project will focus on documenting all current data sources through engineering, starting with use cases for our install base. Key Responsibilities:
- Reverse engineer existing data solutions to understand their construction and data flow
- Document detailed processes, data transformations, and data sources meticulously
- Ensure that all documentation is clear, accurate, and easily accessible for future reference and use
Requirements
- Proven experience in a business analyst role, specifically within data projects
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
- Proficiency in Scala and/or PySpark for data processing and analysis
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server, including the ability to write and interpret complex stored procedures
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and completeness in documentation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards
- Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python or R
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
