We are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic, and entrepreneurial-minded individual for our Public Relations and marketing Internship. This individual should be available for a minimum of three days a week (virtually) and available to start ASAP (September). A three-month minimum commitment is required, with the opportunity for job advancement. Candidates located in NYC may have the chance to attend one day a week in person hybrid (optional).
ROLE OVERVIEW: You support ALAB’s PR Department by exploring, observing and contributing to the functionalities between client and account experience. Working closely with ALAB’s Account Manager, PR Assistant and Founder, you bring both a positive attitude and ideas to the table where you’ll learn how to forge and foster meaningful relationships with media with unparalleled ideas, excitement, and contextually relevant opportunities for client coverage. You thrive off of creative ideas for stories, partnerships, and campaigns to elevate the meaning and connection between our client brands and audience.
OVERVIEW OF TASKS:
- Participate in team brainstorming sessions, showcasing your ideas, knowledge and research-backed approaches
- Assist in creating and developing PR lists and media contacts
- Support sending out pitches to media outlets and influencers
- Research and provide analysis for project-specific information
- Utilizes and learns software platforms and tools to find up-to-date contact information and industry data
- Creatively explores trends and opportunities for compelling storytelling moments for ALAB’s clients
- Participate and apply skills developed in PR-related workshops not limited to pitching, researching, platform education, etc.
THE RIGHT APPLICANT WILL:
- Have a strong interest in fast-growing start-ups, innovation, and business in addition to one or more of the following categories: tech, hospitality, beauty, lifestyle, art, fashion, business, and or entrepreneurship
- Be culturally attuned by keeping up to date with news that directly and indirectly impacts our industry
- Be currently enrolled or recently graduated from a bachelor's program
- Excel at working both independently and collaboratively
- Be a self-starter that is full of ideas and has the ability to take a task and run with it
- Be an avid learner who is always looking to expand their skill set
- Be diligent and pay attention to detail
