We are seeking a part-time payroll assistant to begin immediately.
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced, detail-oriented part-time Payroll Assistant to support our payroll operations. The ideal candidate MUST have at least two years of experience with ADP Workforce Now and be capable of efficiently managing payroll processing for a staff of approximately 100 employees. The position requires a flexible working schedule, including two hours every other week and eight hours during alternate weeks when semi-monthly payroll is due, totaling 20 hours per month.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Assist in preparing and processing semi-monthly payroll using ADP Workforce Now for hourly, daily, and salaried staff.
Timekeeping: Review and verify employee timecards for accuracy, including overtime, paid time off, and other payroll-related adjustments.
Data Entry: Maintain and update employee information in the payroll system.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal (including ACA), state, and local payroll laws and regulations, as well as school policies.
Reporting: Semi-monthly payroll, retirement contributions, tuition and daycare expenses, HSA deductions, and journal entries.
Recordkeeping: Maintain organized and accurate payroll records, including employee files and documentation.
Support: Respond to employee and HR/Finance department payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of payroll and onboarding experience, specifically with ADP Workforce Now.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional accounting, finance, or HR education is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and Google Suite, especially Google Sheets.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Connecticut and Federal payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and general payroll practices.
