Description
The Web Specialist is responsible for supporting the short- and long-term growth strategy of Shockwave web properties in collaboration with others within Marketing and across the organization. The Web Specialist will help manage regular maintenance of the website, creating new webpages, making updates as requested by business owners and keeping content up to date. The Web Specialist has a foundational knowledge of web best practices, including user experience and journey, and can help inform overall web strategy to ensure both business and customer needs are being met. This position will report to and work closely with the Web Content Manager.
Essential Job Functions
- Help manage regular web production, including updates to existing webpages and net new webpages, using a CMS (content management system) such as WordPress.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify web update needs and help guide best practice implementation.
- Manage web requests and business owner reviews promptly and efficiently via project management platforms.
- Collaborate with internal creative team and external agencies as needed to identify and create copy and design assets to support web updates.
- Assist with multi-language/regional content management.
- Help manage CMS back-end tagging, meta data, media, etc.
- Support SEO/SEM tactics as needed.
- Monitor, analyze and report on website traffic, user behavior and content performance to identify both successes and opportunities for improvement.
- Support annual website content audits and reviews.
- Stay up to date on web best practices and trends.
Requirements
- College degree (BA or equivalent), with relevant concentration such as Communications or Marketing.
- 3+ years of experience in web marketing communications, with specific experience in the medtech or broader healthcare industry preferred; agency experience a plus.
- Familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager. Experience with Google Search Console and Looker Studio a plus.
- Experience with keyword research and SEO platforms such as Semrush a plus.
- Effective communication skills and highly organized.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, operating as part of a team or independently and adapting to changing priorities or requirements.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow.
Market Range
San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) Market Range: $75,000 - $94,000
All Other US Locations (Outside of SFBA): $64,000 - $80,000
