NYS Office of Child & Family Services (OCFS) is seeking a
Systems Developer Expert
Day to Day task include:
- Work collaboratively with OREPA and Client staff and participate in business requirement gathering for BI projects.
- Work with the Business Analyst on analysis and logical design.
- Perform complex SQL coding to facilitate reporting and testing functions.
- Model using IBM Cognos BI Framework Manager and Transformer to support mission-critical reporting initiatives, including all layers of model and package development.
- Secure the Framework Manager and Transformer models for data-level, object-level, and package access security.
- Create advanced reports using IBM Cognos Analytics 11.2, including multi-page reports with conditional formatting and joined queries to produce a single dataset.
- Complete testing of all reports, dashboards, and analytics in all environments before business owner review and approval.
- Transfer knowledge to other Cognos users, enabling them to create their own reports in person and via electronic technologies.
- Provide troubleshooting, end-user support, and problem resolution.
- Research and develop solutions using new product functionality to integrate into Human Services Cluster business deliverables.
Requested Qualifications:
- 84 Months of Experience in business requirement gathering, analysis and logical design; understanding and translating complex issues both in oral and written communication
- 84 Months of Experience in creating and modifying Framework Manager models
- 84 Months of Experience in creating and modifying reports using COGNOS tools
- 84 Months of Experience in using SQL for analysis and reporting including conditional formatting and joining multiple queries
- 84 Months of Experience testing reports, analytics, troubleshooting, problem solving, documenting and presenting complex data challenges to stakeholders
- 84 Months of Experience working in social services or relating fields
- Bachelor's Degree
Work hours and location:
- Full time role with engagement length of 24 months
- Daily hours: 8am-5pm (negotiable)
- Physical office location: 52 Washington St., Room 323 North, Rensselaer, NY 12144
- Telecommuting options: 50% after the first three months, pending satisfactory job performance / evaluation
