POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Procurement and Freight Coordinator at Petit Pot, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and transportation of materials and goods necessary for our pudding production. Your role will involve coordinating with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that all materials meet quality and cost standards. Additionally, you will oversee the logistics and freight processes to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective transportation. You will also play a key role in supporting Petit Pot's commitment to social and environmental performance by promoting sustainable procurement and logistics practices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Procurement Management: Source and purchase raw materials, packaging, and other necessary supplies for production. Ensure that all materials meet quality standards, cost-effectiveness, and delivery schedules.
- Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and quality standards. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Freight Coordination: Manage the logistics and transportation of materials and finished products. Coordinate with freight carriers and distribution partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery while optimizing shipping routes and methods.
- Fulfillment Coordination: Work with the operations team to ensure all customer orders are fulfilled in full and on time. Analyze weekly orders to be sure internal stock levels and inventory in distribution is maintained at appropriate levels, with ability to troubleshoot any issues with orders.
- Cost Management: Analyze procurement and freight costs, identify opportunities for cost savings, and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality or service levels.
- Social and Environmental Performance: Promote sustainable procurement practices by sourcing environmentally friendly materials and suppliers. Support initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of freight and logistics operations, such as optimizing transportation routes and reducing emissions.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all procurement and freight activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and shipping documents.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably within the food or CPG industry.
- Experience with domestic dry and refrigerated LTL and FTL freight
- Experience working with the following considered a plus: UNFI, KeHE, Costco, Publix, Target, Misfits Market
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a focus on building and maintaining supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and logistics operations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in procurement and logistics software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with sustainable procurement practices and an understanding of social and environmental responsibility in supply chain management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Physical Effort:
- Minimal physical effort is required for this role, though occasional lifting and carrying of documents or small packages may be necessary. The role involves extended periods of sitting and using a computer.
