Hill International is seeking a Sr Project Manager in San Antionio, Texas
Responsibilities
- Manage the design and construction on multiple capital improvement projects ranging in construction budget of $10M to $65M including scheduling, RFI’s, change orders, and reviewing/approving contractor shop drawings.
- Provide leadership with contracted architectural, engineering and management professionals involved in planning, design and construction of projects using wide latitude for independent judgement.
- Consult with District and school administration, staff, teachers, and communities within area of responsibility to ensure that the coordination of activities is consistent with District and schools’ goals and objectives. Provides information regarding tasks, plans, schedules, strategies, and organization structures to stakeholders.
- Assure conformity using advanced knowledge of design with program requirements, time schedules, budget limitations, construction codes, planning/zoning requirements and District standards and criteria. Prepare documentation of project timeline and costs; analyzes and interprets data.
- Review and approves architect invoices and contractor progress payments.
- Inspect work in progress and monitors workmanship per contractual requirements on a regular basis at job sites under minimal supervision.
- Serve as the department’s point of contact to resolve problems, provide clarification, or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority.
- Ensure compliance of construction plans, specifications, and contract conditions and adhere to regulations and school district requirements in the performance of project work.
- Responsible for coordinating and participating in professional development training for the department and district stakeholders such as school facilities design conferences.
- Advise Director, Planning & Construction on matters regarding assigned functions/departments and updates staff on
- Ensure consultants maintain approved project and construction budget; recommends budget revisions to the Director, Planning & Construction
- Advanced knowledge of design and construction industries
- Knowledge of school district purchasing and bidding processes.
- Proven ability to define problems, draw conclusions and solve problems.
- Proven ability to review/approve contractor shop drawing submittals, Requests for Information, Change Orders, and other construction-related documents
- Requires general knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions.
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully with the community as well as all levels of district employees in a collaborative manner
- Knowledge and understanding of processes and procedures related to school districts or other governmental entities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Science or related field from an accredited college or university or 4 years equivalent experience.
- 8+ years progressive experience in building construction or building construction management or related field to include:
- Experience with reviewing/approving contractor shop drawing submittals, Requests for Information, Change Orders, and other construction-related documents
- A valid Texas driver’s license and a good driving record. Must meet and maintain liability insurance coverage eligibility.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
- Professional Certification in Project or Construction Management or related field
