Description
The Human Resources (HR) Assistant will provide administrative support to the People and Culture department across various human resources functions. This position is ideal for someone pursuing a career in HR, offering hands-on experience in a dynamic and mission-driven environment. The intern will assist in daily HR tasks and contribute to ongoing projects that support the overall success of the department.
This is a part-time, temporary position (3 months)
- Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Help maintain employee records and ensure accurate data entry into HR systems.
- Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire materials and organizing orientation schedules.
- Participate in organizing and coordinating employee engagement activities.
- Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and employee handbooks to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide administrative support for HR projects, such as employee surveys, diversity initiatives, and training programs.
- Help maintain confidential employee files and records in an organized manner.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide information related to HR processes and procedures.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the HR team.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education (Required)
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives is a plus.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language communication (Preferred).
