Position: Senior Agile Coach
Location: Washington, DC (Day 1 Onsite)
Duration: 6 - 12 Months (Contract + Possibility of extension)
Job Description:
- Seeking 10+ years of seasoned experience as an Agile Coach with strong expertise in SAFe Agile.
- Responsibilities include initiating planning and scope within an Agile framework, preparing for sprint planning meetings, and running sprint retrospective meetings.
The Agile Coach inspires the team, provides tools, and promotes personal growth. Responsibilities may include:
- Distributing information on the Agile process to all team members early on.
- Teaching each necessary process step during the project’s lifespan.
- Assisting in the development of project plans.
- Identifying probable project pitfalls.
- Responding to colleagues' questions.
- Recognizing and diagnosing process problems.
- Coaching Agile Product Owners to achieve corporate value and project vision.
- Creating user stories to assist Product Managers.
- Empowering Product Owners to make tactical decisions that keep the project moving forward and fostering strategic connections with other business members.
- Mentoring Scrum Masters who wish to become coaches.
- Assisting Scrum Masters with meeting preparations such as pre-planning, scheduling, planning, daily Scrum, and review.
- Training managers in the applications of popular Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
- Educating managers on dealing with any cultural shifts the project may cause.
- Creating project plans and tracking schedules for on-time delivery as per defined quality standards.
- Working closely with the development team and on-site engineers to understand technical requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Identifying and flagging potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines or quality, developing mitigation strategies or contingency plans, and providing regular project updates to key stakeholders.
