Job Overview
The Move, Add, Change Technician is a part-time role dedicated to relocation, deployment and support projects for Milestone Technologies. Projects will consist of disconnecting workstations and/or servers, relocating hardware to a new facility and reconnecting workstations and/or servers in a new environment.
Candidates should be self-starters, punctual, motivated/driven, pay attention to detail, are excited to learn and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Candidates will need to work well under pressure on large, fast-paced projects with changing priorities. We are looking for an excellent team player with a positive, flexible demeanor, and the ability to operate with a sense of urgency. This position requires standing for long periods of time as well as repetitive bending, reaching, and heavy lifting.
How You Make An Impact
- Track project activities to which you are assigned
- Review matrix diagrams of desktops and server elevations
- Identify, Document, and escalate and project related issues
- Troubleshoot layer 1 network issues
- Accurately read/write and rack elevation drawing, patching matrices and layer 1 network topologies
- Perform inventory management and data entry with keen attention to detail
- Proficiently and accurately disconnect and reconnect PC workstations and peripherals in a timely manner
- Ensure equipment is accurately labeled with origination/destination information
- Material Handling: Receiving, unboxing, and preparing lab equipment, including Computer Network, Storage and Infrastructure Hardware
- Build Support: Rack/Stack, Cabling, Labeling and Dressing Data Center Hardware
- Change Management: Support Moves, Adds and Changes and Documentation
- Documentation: Device Inventory in Netbox and Spreadsheets maintained by client teams
- Network Support: Basic Provisioning and Configuration of BIOS
What You Need To Succeed
- 3+ years of Data Center Operations experience in large scale environments
- 3+ years of experience with Layer 1 Computer Repair and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of a variety of current PC hardware and computer peripherals
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
- Basic iOS/Android, Win OS Navigation skill
- Digital and analog systems equipment depl oyment/decommissioning exposure
- Valid Government issued Driver’s License, Passport, and ability to travel as necessary
Compensation
Estimated Pay Range: $25.83 - $30.00 USD Exact compensation and offers of employment are dependent on circumstances of each case and will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.
