Job Title: Mainframe Developer

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications on the Mainframe platform. Expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 is essential. The developer will work closely with business analysts, other developers, and system users to deliver high-quality mainframe solutions that address our business needs.
The Role
Responbilities:
- Develop and maintain applications written in COBOL, utilizing JCL and DB2 databases.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and code.
- Create and manage DB2 databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
- Perform unit testing and participate in system and integration testing to ensure quality.
- Debug and resolve production issues, providing timely fixes and post-implementation support.
- Optimize existing mainframe programs to improve efficiency and reduce CPU time.
- Prepare detailed documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with team members on code reviews, internal tools, and process improvements.
- Adhere to best practices in coding and design to ensure compliance and easy maintainability.
- Participate in on-call support rotations for critical systems as needed.
Requirement:
You are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in Mainframe development.
- Strong skills in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 database management.
- Experience with Mainframe tools such as TSO/ISPF, CICS, and debugging tools.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies.
- Proven ability to write efficient, clean, and documented code.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
