About the Institute for People and Technology at Georgia Tech:
Institute for People and Technology connects faculty and students across the entire Georgia Tech campus by blurring the lines between academic disciplines and partnering to translate research results into real-world use. IPaT brings together researchers, industry, and other partners to identify technology solutions that will shape our global future. Job Summary
IPaT is seeking applicants for the position of Research Scientist to work on research the implementation of software platforms including mobile applications, web-based solutions, and immersive environments (e.g. virtual and augmented reality). These platforms will often include AI and computer vision algorithms, interface with novel hardware, and/or require the compliant handling of sensitive data (e.g. HIPAA, FERPA, CUI). The Research Scientist will be responsible for participating in all phases of the research project with a focus on scoping the software development research, and designing, implementing the software, deploying the resulting platform, and maintaining the system through the life of the project. The Research Scientist will also assist with designing and running user studies involving the developed applications. They will also participate in the analysis of the resulting data to either inform future iterations of the system or to generate scientific knowledge to be published and/or disseminated to the relevant community or sponsor.
Required Qualifications

Research Scientist I:
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science and/or Human Computer Interaction (HCI) related area
Research Scientist II:
- A Master's degree, Computer Science and/or Human Computer Interaction (HCI) related area and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
- A Master's degree, Computer Science and/or Human Computer Interaction (HCI) related area and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
- A Doctoral degree.
