Fieldpiece is seeking an innovative and strategic
Data Scientist to join our Digital Solutions team. In this role, you’ll leverage data analytics, machine learning, and statistical models to drive actionable insights and help us transition toward digital transformation. You’ll work with large datasets from hardware products and develop cutting-edge solutions that enhance customer experience, optimize performance, and generate new business opportunities.
Fieldpiece has been delivering rugged, professional-grade, and feature-rich tools and testing instruments to HVACR technicians since 1990. Our products are top of the line and HVACR pros trust us to help them do their jobs better, faster, and easier with tools like spanning meters, manifolds, leak detectors, scales, and more.

What You’ll Do
- Extract, clean, and analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
- Develop, implement, and optimize machine learning models to forecast trends, predict customer behaviors, and improve product performance.
- Create algorithms to process and interpret data from hardware products, IoT devices, and customer interactions.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, R&D, Engineering, and Marketing teams to understand data needs and deliver insights that align with Fieldpiece’s strategic goals.
- Build intuitive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Continuously refine models and analytical techniques to improve accuracy and scalability.
- Maintain clear, structured documentation of data models, assumptions, and methodologies.
- Identify new opportunities to leverage data for product improvement and development of recurring revenue models.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of commercial (non-academic) experience in data analysis, machine learning, or predictive modeling with a track record of delivering actionable insights through data-driven solutions.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn.
- Expert-level skills in handling large datasets, data cleansing, and data transformation.
- Experience working with IoT data or data from hardware products is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify business opportunities through data and propose actionable solutions.
- Ability to present complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Strong understanding of business strategy and how data science can support key objectives, particularly in enhancing customer experience and growing recurring revenue streams.
