Typical Day in Role
- Marketing team – help with transitioning team to an Agile way of working
- Lead sprints and agile ceremonies
- Retrospective Calls: Conduct retrospective meetings at the end of each sprint to reflect on what went well, what didn’t, and how processes can be improved.
- Use feedback to adjust and enhance the team's efficiency and morale.
- Lead Demo Sprints and Agile Ceremonies: Prepare for and lead sprint demos where the team showcases their work to stakeholders.
- Collect feedback and incorporate it into the planning for the next sprint.
- Breakdown Barriers: Address any issues or roadblocks that were mentioned during the standup.
- Collaborate with team members to find solutions or escalate issues to the appropriate parties.
Job summary
We’re looking for a Scrum Lead/Agile Lead to join our Group Benefits Marketing team. In this role, you will be focused on how the team delivers work. You will be committed to helping the team evolve in their Agile ways of working and operate as a healthy, happy, high-performing-team. You will be responsible for identifying and addressing process/workflow inefficiencies, helping the team grow in their understanding of Agile practices, build effective communication points with other teams and partners, and promoting team health, engagement, and collaboration, so the team continues to thrive.
Key responsibilities:
- Guides and coaches the scrum team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers.
- Strives to maintain a high performing team by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.
- Responsible for ensuring scrum is understood and the team adheres to scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
- Coaches the scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge, and effective communication.
- Manages the processes of breaking down projects into tasks, task estimation, identifying projects/tasks where the team has dependencies with other teams/business areas, and assisting the Marketing Owner in managing the backlog.
- Works with scrum team, as well as internal stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product and platform team.
- Resolves team impediments to increase the effectiveness of the application of scrum in the organization.
- Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization.
- Creating and executing impactful marketing campaigns that support the launch of new products and enhancements. Your goal will be to engage our target audience and drive awareness and adoption.
- Facilitates and supports all scrum events: sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review, and sprint retrospective.

- Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. Scrum, Kanban), or understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices
- Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other scrum techniques
- Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teams
- Familiar with the latest digital marketing trends and technologies, such as AI tools
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
- 4 years of product or project development experience, or 3 years of project development experience on an agile team or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Proficiency in Agile tools including Jira or similar
- Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel, Smartsheet, and Mural
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Marketing manager experience
- Familiar with AI
- Familiar with smart sheet
Education:
- Bachelor's degree is required
Best vs. Average:

They should have demonstrated experience in leading teams effectively and managing change within dynamic environments. Specifically, the candidate should be adept at guiding teams through transformation processes and transitioning to agile frameworks, while also leveraging their marketing expertise to drive strategic initiatives.
