We are searching for an experienced (Lead) AI/ML Engineer to join this innovative venture. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge AI/ML systems for space-based platforms, directly contributing to real-time decision-making in extreme environments.
Role Overview:
The (Lead) AI/ML Engineer will spearhead the development of high-performance AI/ML algorithms for edge computing systems, optimizing sensor data processing and enabling real-time decision-making in aerospace applications. You will design, train, and deploy AI models that fuse multimodal data from Lidar, radar, and other sensors to drive autonomous operations in orbit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of AI/ML models for real-time sensor data fusion, perception, and decision-making.
- Optimize AI models for edge devices with power and performance constraints in space environments.
- Design and implement AI/ML algorithms to handle data from Lidar, radar, RGB, and other sensor sources.
- Collaborate with hardware and systems engineering teams to integrate AI solutions into payload and satellite platforms.
- Oversee the training, validation, and deployment of AI models on edge AI hardware for space missions.
- Ensure high levels of robustness, accuracy, and safety for AI-driven autonomous decision-making.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML, with a focus on edge AI, real-time decision-making, or autonomous systems.
- Strong experience in training and deploying AI models for real-time sensor data processing (e.g., Lidar, radar, imagery).
- Proven ability to optimize AI models for low-power, resource-constrained environments.
- Expertise in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and AI model optimization techniques.
Preferred:
- Experience working with space-qualified systems or in aerospace industries.
- Familiarity with AI for perception in multidimensional, sensor-rich environments (e.g., Lidar, radar, RGB).
- Experience in startup environments or government-sponsored space missions.
